I absolutely love making soup. When I was 11, my parents let me make a batch of Potato Leek Soup at their restaurant. I was instantly hooked.

Soup was a mainstay of our former restaurant, S3 Kitchen in Oak Park, Illinois. Our guests - and the critics - loved the soups. Shortly after we closed, I received dozens of requests for pots of it.  So Karl’s Craft Soup was born.

Today, we cook at the River Forest Kitchen, in partnership with Schoolhouse Kitchen + Studio, a dynamic community of creative food artisans. We collaborate monthly on a community pop-up market, featuring a variety of family-friendly prepared foods and fun specialty treats, that serves the western suburbs.
